The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I simply love this movie. That’s why I chose this movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” as my first post. General This movie is start from a old lady laying in a hospital bed talking about there was a clock maker named Mr. Cake, made a giant clock which running backwards. And that’s how this beautiful amazing love story beginning. Benjamin Button, just like that giant clock, living backwards. He was born like “a man well in his 80s on his way to the grave.” Benjamin met his young lady Daisy at her beautiful innocent age. They hide under the table. Just exactly like other young couples. But still somehow looks weird from his wrinkles covered face, and her pretty face. While I’m watching this movie I can not stop thinking what should I do when I was still a young child have to say goodbye forever to my friends who I may not seen anymore. But this how Benjamin spent his childhood with old people’s dying, and growing up. Life is beautiful with loved ones. Benjamin is God’s miracle, just like what his mama said.  After he left his “home”. He joint the boat, met lots of different people, and listened to their own stories. He heard nothing from his young lady Daisy. But life still going on. “You’ll never know what’s coming for you” I like the part when Benjamin talked about “it’s a funny thing to come to home,” everything is stay the same, but the only thing changed is you. He is much younger than he used to be. But still too old for his real age. The good thing is Daisy is back. They talk and dance all night long. To one point I wish this is how this movie ends. Let’s the beautiful love stay how it supposed to be. But this is movie. Benjamin met his father, and Daisy, got car accident. She can not dance anymore. With his beautiful face, Benjamin told her he would take her home. She refused. She said, “I don’t want to be with you. Just stay out of my life.” Like every love story, couples don’t want the loved ones seen their miserable. But this is the real harm for both of them. But finally, She came back. While Daisy is crying for getting old, Benjamin’s face just looks perfect. God made a joke on both of them. “We’re meeting in the middle”, “we finally caught up with each other.” They got a baby girl. And Benjamin realized that their young girl need someone to grow old with. He left. The next time Daisy saw him, he was already a twenty-something young guy, and she married a widower.  She took care or him, and watching him from a young kid sitting on the roof to an infant who forgot how to walk. Benjamin died in his love’s arm. With the storm hitting the window. The beautiful miracle love story end. Actor Brad Pitt is handsome as always, even his face covered with wrinkles. His work in this movie just normal. Nothing too much to comment. Cate Blanchett is amazing. She use her own way to describe a woman’s whole life. From pretty innocent young kid to a beautiful young lady, to a mother and an old grace lady. I can see my life track from her act. All-in-all I love this movie, the curious case of Benjamin Button, just like a journey for all the audiences. I can experience a totally different lifestyle from this movie. And feel how this miracle brought to this couple. I still remember I ask my three years younger boyfriend while we were watching this movie together, if wrinkles covered my face, will you still love me? However, this is not only about Benjamin, it about everyone in this movie. Just like how it ends, some have an ear for music, some are artists, some swim, some are mothers. Fight Club

“That old thing, how you always hurt the one you love. Well, it works both ways.”

Edward Norton plays the noname, who have suffered from insomnia for long time, his doctor refused to give him any medicine and advises him to join a support group where he met the “big boobs Bob”. This no name gut start to addicted to attending support groups, until he found out that he is not alone. Marla Singer, showed up in his life. During a flight home, no name guy met Tyler Durden, and he have to call him after he found out his apartment blew out and he has no place to go. This is how this movie and how fight club beginning.

After the first fight outside the bar, Mr. Noname moved to Tyler’s dilapidated house. They have fight over and over until it become the “fight club” where brunch of men will meet up in a bar’s basement. It is a routine opportunity to fight with others.

“Gentlemen, welcome to the Fight Club. The first rule of fight club is you do not talk about fight club.”

Thing between Marla, Mr. Nomane, and Tyler became more and more complicate. She have sex with one and then another. She seems weird and both of two guys’ friendship seems changed after this girl and all those changes happened among fight club. Mr. Noname tried to shut down the project which started by Tyler and fight club. But he found out he can do nothing, and everything is under Tyler’s control. Until they fight for the last time, and Mr. Noname realized that Tyler is just exactly himself and he is Tyler. He shot himself in the face, and “killed” Tyler.

“Most people…normal people…do just about anything to avoid a fight.”

Edward did awesome job in this movie, or you could say Edward Norton is really good at being a psycho. He can be as innocent as a young teenager, or being a super creepy weirdo. About Brad Pitt, he just act out how wild or crazy he is.

This movie is kind of arouse my feeling about have a fight with someone. I always  wrestling with my boyfriend, but since he is much bigger and stronger than me, been defeated feels terrible. Anyways, this movie give other people’s a feeling that they can not just simply suck everything up, they need to learn how to say no, or at least find a good way to let temper go, maybe not fight with some random people, since this is just a movie.

I like it a lot though.

Step Brothers

Step Brothers is a very comical movie about when a single mother and a single father both with 40 year old sons who still live at home with their parent. They do not have any kind of job, or responsibility. Their parents take care of everything for them. This is, until they have to move into same house with each other. They fight and bicker all the time and make each other mad. In one instance, they get into a fight in the front yard, their entire neighborhood circles around them and watch. They eventually knocked each other out and later woke up only to found out they are grounded from TV. Because of this, they eventually get job, even though they were not serious at very beginning, and “grow up”. Until the end of the movie, when they have to combine their talents to save the party, they realized how pressure their friendship are.

It is a really good and funny movie. Because I believe everybody can relate to it. We all remember the time when we have to grow up and become an adult. This is interesting to see how other people grow up differently, and have to overcome different obstacles. No two people “grow up” the same way. This movie use its own weird way to show us how 40 year old people trying to live independently, and responsible, while others are already successful enough to have their own family. After you laugh how silly they are, you will feel a little bit sorry for them, since we do not understand their world as a child and the pressure they are facing.

I have to say that both two actors did excellent job in this movie. They made the audience believe that they are the step brothers instead of actors. The way they are acting really bring me into the brothers’ life.

The ending part is funny but touching. Everyone changed their point of view about their brothers. Everyone is surprised about how mature they have become, and how well they get along with. They tried their best to overcome those things they used to seem taboo or impossible mission. These remind me a quote said “those who said they can’t ; won’t.”

I like this movie, Step Brothers, one reason is because it is super funny, more because you can find yourself in this inspiring movie.
